Breaking the SUPERWOMAN MYTH – From SUPERWOMAN to CONSCIOUS WOMAN

Well, I gather we women professionals and entrepreneurs were made to believe a dangerous story – Being the SUPERWOMAN – One who can lead teams, manage home, care for friends, be there for everyone, run a business and all this effortlessly with a smile.

Welcome to the SUPERWOMAN MYTH

This isn’t empowerment but it is a matter of self-neglect, exhaustion and pressure.

In my own experience, I have faltered too – being in the mad race of doing everything to the tee and keeping a warm smile ON even when I was exhausted internally.

And I have realised that REST IS A PART OF THE PRODUCTIVITY CYCLE AND IT IS A STRATEGY!

What makes the Superwoman?

  1. Mental Load – The responsibility of having many tabs opened in the brain – constantly planning, scheduling, managing
  2. People Pleasing – Take on an avatar that I can do everything and there is no issue whatsoever
  3. Perfection – Trying to do everything meticulously and always pushing through
  4. Feeling guilty while resting – The constant thought that – ‘I am wasting time’

And inevitably one fine day or moment everything crashes.

The Truth: Syncing with Nature

Like Nature- there is a period of Growth, Stillness, Renewal and everything works efficiently through cycles.

There are seasons, tides, and cycles.

Well this is something that one can do and take on the rhythm of nature’s cycles.

Moving Out of the Superwoman Trap

  1. Redefine Strength – Strength is not about pushing through but knowing when to pause
  2. Redefine Rest – Rest is not a reward, it is a part of the cycle of productivity
  3. Redefine Breaks – One can choose to
    • Walk in nature
    • Spend an hour in meditation
    • Be gadget free for an hour
    • Spend time in Hobby
  4. Nature Connection – Connect consciously and regulate oneself
    • Observe a natural object for 10 minutes
    • Sit by a tree without any gadgets
    • Place your feet on the ground or walk barefoot on grass
    • Breathwork in the outdoors
  5. Redefine Mind and Body Connection – Feel the Body and acknowledge the emotions

Conscious Woman Model

Become the Woman who

  1. Has boundaries – Personal and Professional
  2. Rightfully Say NO
  3. Embraces REST
  4. Creates meaningful work
  5. Embodies Nature’s rhythm
  6. Leads with clarity
  7. Enhances Balance within herself

Conscious Women know when to pause, when to be still and when to be in action.

The world needs more rested, conscious women not Superwomen.
