I gather in the last 5 years I have had some realizations on how Mental wellbeing matters. For having been a person who was focused on Physical wellbeing, mental health and wellbeing was too far off to be a part of my holistic wellbeing.
It was only during my inner journey with Yoga and Spirituality, that I tapped into the aspect of mental state, feelings and tried to understand as to what was going on the inside.
My biggest lessons in the last one year has been to acknowledge my emotions- mindfully all my emotions for what they are and also to regulate my emotions organically.
Something which has also intrigued me is how stored emotions can lead to chronic pain in any part of the body. And this past one year has helped me to understand my body in this regard.
Sailing across multitude of challenges, intense events, relationships, career, family, achievements does bring a toll on the mental health. It is quite an effort to stay sane, peaceful and driven but it is possible!
I have been hearing that the world can be up against a Mental Health Pandemic soon or has it already begun? Well if you ask me, I am already seeing people being addicted to Alcohol, Drugs, Antidepressants, Sleeping pills to function in an everyday life. But let me tell you they are harming the body and mental state and it would be hard to get out of that rut.
Simple physical exercises, Mindfulness practices, Yoga, Meditation, Grounding exercises, Spending time on a hobby or in nature can do wonders for your Mental Wellbeing.
The question is -‘Are you willing to spend time for your mental wellbeing?’
